Wednesday: Thanksgiving

Let's praise God for His word today!

Scripture memorization is a powerful tool and a cornerstone of the DCSS education. Even in mid-September, our students have already tucked away several verses this school year. Some of our students memorize completely on their own, while others enlist the help of family members. This is a very nice by-product, since our families are also learning the verses!

As I have helped my own children memorize their weekly selections, I am taken with their drive to say the verses perfectly. "You only made one mistake, do you want me to sign my name?" "NO! Let me try again!"  Also, my littlest one (now 3rd grade) has to act out the verses to "make it stick" which has been very amusing to watch.

May these verses "stick" with our children for years to come, equipping them with promises, faith, hope, encouragement, and wisdom.

Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
